Chris Provencher, Owner | Master Transmission Technician

Chris is the owner of United Transmission and has been working in the transmission industry since 1999. With more than 25 years of hands-on experience, he has built a reputation for accurate diagnostics, quality workmanship, and honest recommendations. Chris joined United Transmission in 2008 and spent years serving customers and refining his craft before purchasing the business alongside his wife, Mindy, in October 2024. As a transmission specialist, Chris focuses on transmission diagnostics, rebuilding, drivetrain repairs, and helping customers understand their repair options. His commitment to doing the job right and treating customers fairly continues to drive the success of United Transmission today.

Fun Fact: When he's not in the shop, Chris enjoys working on his square body trucks, riding ATVs with family and friends, and competing in a friendly game of horseshoes.

Melinda “Mindy” Provencher, Co-Owner and Operations Administrator

Mindy serves as Co-Owner and Operations Administrator for United Transmission. She oversees daily office operations, customer service, bookkeeping, payroll, marketing, human resources, and process development while also assisting as a Service Advisor several days each week. With an extensive background in administrative, legal, and business operations, Mindy brings strong organizational and customer service skills to the company. Since acquiring United Transmission alongside her husband, Chris, in October 2024, she has focused on improving customer communication, implementing streamlined procedures, and modernizing many of the shop's internal systems. Mindy is passionate about creating a positive experience for both customers and employees while helping preserve the reputation and legacy that United Transmission has built since 1960.

Fun Fact: Mindy loves spending time with family, especially her two granddaughters. When she's not in the office, you'll often find her riding ATVs with family and friends—the muddier the trail, the better!

Professional Background: Over 30 years of experience in administrative management, legal support, bookkeeping, payroll administration, customer service, and business operations.

Michelle Heffernan, Service Advisor

Michelle has been helping customers at United Transmission for nearly four decades. Having witnessed the shop evolve from handwritten invoices and ledgers to today's digital systems, she brings unmatched experience and familiarity with the business. Michelle's connection to United Transmission goes back even further than her years of employment. She fondly remembers growing up around the shop during the years her father, Ed Gaudette, owned and operated the business. Those early experiences gave her a firsthand appreciation for the values of hard work, honesty, and customer service that continue to define United Transmission today. Known for her friendly personality, industry knowledge, and dedication to customers, Michelle helps ensure every customer feels welcomed and informed throughout the repair process. Her deep roots in the business and commitment to the community make her an invaluable part of the United Transmission team.

Fun Fact: Michelle loves the outdoors and enjoys camping, hiking, boating, and spending time in nature whenever she gets the chance.

Professional Background: Nearly 40 years of customer service and administrative experience in the automotive industry, with firsthand knowledge of United Transmission's history spanning multiple generations of ownership.

Jeremy "Jer" Hunter, Transmission & Drivetrain Technician

Jer has been a valued member of the United Transmission team for more than 10 years. He specializes in transmission removal and installation, drivetrain repairs, vehicle inspections, and diagnostic support. With his hands-on experience and attention to detail, Jer takes pride in delivering quality workmanship on every repair. Jer works closely with Chris to inspect vehicles, perform diagnostic testing, and document findings using our Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) system. His technical knowledge, strong work ethic, and commitment to quality make him an important part of the United Transmission team.

Fun Fact: Outside of work, Jer enjoys camping, boating, and ATV adventures with family and friends.

Jose Arzola, Maintenance & Shop Support

Jose is the behind-the-scenes force that helps keep United Transmission running smoothly. From maintaining a clean and organized facility to assisting wherever needed, Jose is always ready to lend a hand. Known for his positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to tackle any task, Jose plays an important role in supporting the entire team. His dedication helps create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for both employees and customers.

Fun Fact: Jose enjoys spending time with friends and family, helping others whenever he can, and taking long walks to relax and recharge.
